The snow forced a re-scheduling but on a sunny bright morning last week we finally presented our National Fire and Life Safety Expo 2018 at the Clayton hotel in Liffey Valley. A new date didn’t put off the visitors and we were rewarded with a great turnout. The team welcomed many of our existing customers and quite a few new faces too. It was great to see many of the leading installation companies present.
The morning session started with a warm welcome for attendees from Paul Hennessy, Managing Director of Northwood Technology. Paul spoke about how he had noticed that within the industry there has been a significant increase in those looking for direction and advice. Throughout the recent series of nationwide road shows that Northwood have been running, he found that there is a dramatic increase in the demand for information.
Paul continued ‘By welcoming our world class manufactures here today, we can offer you the opportunity to access a vast amount of knowledge. These experts in Fire and Life Safety will share their knowledge and expertise and are available to you during the day so I advise you to take advantage of this valuable resource’.
What followed during the day were some very well received presentations from leading brands in this sector. We started with Andy Turner from C-Tec who spoke to us about the innovative Hush Button. We then moved on to a presentation on Linear Heat Detection and in particular the Patol products that are leading the way in this area. Brian Cannon from Silent Alert gave a very interesting presentation on products designed for fire detection for deaf people. He also gave us an insight into other products in his range designed for use by carers. Mark Tansey from Electro-Detectors gave us a list of reasons to consider wireless fire detection. Neil Parkin outlined the many reasons so many Irish customers choose Advanced Electronic fire panels. Last, but by no means least, we had a very informative presentation on construction products regulations from Frank Pierce.
Our exhibition area was buzzing from early morning. Throughout the day each of the stands were kept busy with visitors eager to find out about the latest innovations.
Ian from Smoke Detector Tester was delighted to be able to show their products to a new audience. Brian was joined by Daryl on the Silent Alert stand where they were exhibiting products from their domestic, carer and commercial ranges. C-Tec demonstrated their Hush Button system to a very engaged audience throughout the day. While Damien from Bosch was on hand to discuss the range of products available from them. Eaton might power businesses worldwide but Bryan concentrated on their Irish customers on the day and was rewarded with a very busy stand. Neil from Advanced Electronics was glad to have the opportunity to meet up with existing customers. While at the EI Electronics stand, Tom greeted new and old customers alike.
The consensus among the attendees was that the day was a great opportunity to check out new innovations, discuss popular products with the actual manufacturers and get a better understanding of systems.
Northwood Technology recognise that this is an Industry looking for direction and advice. It’s a dynamic sector that wants to learn and offer new products to customers and expand their offering. That is why it is so important for us to facilitate our customers by offering an event such as this. We want to thank all who attended, our exhibitors and our speakers.
